Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 29, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how PA School Survival (“we,” “us,” or “the Service”), available at paschoolsurvival.com, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our study tools. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — the email address you provide to sign in. Sign-in is passwordless: we email you a single-use 6-digit code, so we do not collect or store passwords.
  • Content you upload — lecture slides and documents (PDFs and images) you submit to generate study materials, and any notes or sketches you create.
  • Study data you generate — the flashcards, practice questions, quizzes, notes, sketches, and spaced-repetition review history tied to your account.
  • Usage and device information — basic analytics about how the Service is used, such as pages viewed and general device or browser type, collected to keep the Service running and to improve it.
  • Local storage — we store small amounts of data in your browser, such as your sign-in session, your light/dark theme preference, and, for guests, any sketches you make before signing in.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide the Service — authenticate you, build study materials from your uploads, and save your library and progress.
  • Operate AI features — process your uploaded slides and questions to generate flashcards, questions, quizzes, and tutor answers.
  • Communicate with you — send sign-in links and essential account or service messages.
  • Maintain, secure, and improve the Service, and enforce our Terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your uploaded study materials to train artificial-intelligence models.

3. How we share information

We share information only with the service providers that power the Service, and only as needed to operate it:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage for your account, library, and uploads.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI processing of your uploaded slides and questions to generate study materials and tutor answers.
  • Resend — delivery of sign-in links and transactional emails.
  • Vercel — application hosting and basic usage analytics.
  • Stripe — payment processing for paid subscriptions and add-ons.

Each provider processes information under its own terms and privacy commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of our users or the Service.

4. AI-generated content

Study materials are generated by AI from your own uploads, and the Service's built-in clinical content is AI-authored. AI output may be incomplete or inaccurate, is provided for educational use only, and is not medical advice. Always verify against current primary sources and your faculty before any clinical use. PA School Survival is an independent study resource and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by the NCCPA.

5. Data retention

We keep your account information and the study data tied to your account for as long as your account is active.

  • Source files used to build flashcard and question decks are deleted from storage shortly after they are processed — we keep the generated study materials, not the original deck file.
  • Files you upload to Notes & Sketches are retained so you can re-open and annotate them.
  • Sketches made as a guest before signing in are stored only in your browser and are not saved to our servers.

When you delete your account, we delete the personal information and content associated with it, except where we are required to retain it by law.

6. Your choices and rights

You can:

  • Access and update the email associated with your account.
  • Delete your account and its associated data yourself at any time from the Pricing & Account page, or request deletion by contacting us at support@paschoolsurvival.com.
  • Use your browser's privacy controls to limit non-essential analytics; note that sign-in links and other essential messages are required to use the Service.

Depending on where you live — for example, under the California Consumer Privacy Act — you may have additional rights to access, delete, or correct your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To make a request, contact us at support@paschoolsurvival.com.

7. Security

We use reputable infrastructure providers, encrypt data in transit, and scope each user's data to their own account, so you can access only your own library, notes, and progress. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for users who are 18 or older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes may be communicated through the Service. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
