Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Inhibits thyroid peroxidase and blocks peripheral T4→T3 conversion.
Black Box Warning
Severe hepatic injury and acute liver failure (some fatal or requiring transplant).
Clinical Notes
Reserved for the first trimester of pregnancy and thyroid storm. Agranulocytosis; ANCA-associated vasculitis.
