- Mechanism of Action (MOA)
- Inhibits thyroid peroxidase and blocks peripheral T4→T3 conversion.
- Black Box Warning
- Severe hepatic injury and acute liver failure (some fatal or requiring transplant).
- Clinical Notes
- Reserved for the first trimester of pregnancy and thyroid storm. Agranulocytosis; ANCA-associated vasculitis.
