- Mechanism of Action (MOA)
- Blocks central and peripheral dopamine D2 receptors → ↑ gastric motility and antiemesis.
- Black Box Warning
- Tardive dyskinesia, which may be irreversible — avoid use beyond 12 weeks.
- Clinical Notes
- Gastroparesis and refractory nausea. Extrapyramidal symptoms, hyperprolactinemia; avoid in bowel obstruction and Parkinson's.
