Activates A1 receptors → transient AV block via ↑ K⁺ efflux / ↓ Ca²⁺ influx.
Clinical Notes
First-line to terminate stable SVT/AVNRT. Ultra-short half-life (~10 s) with a few seconds of flushing/chest pressure/asystole. Theophylline/caffeine blunt it.
