Class IB Antiarrhythmic

Drug Class: Class IB Antiarrhythmic
Mechanism of Action (MOA): Blocks fast Na⁺ channels (preferentially in ischemic/depolarized tissue) → shortens repolarization.
Clinical Notes: Ventricular arrhythmias (esp. ischemic/post-MI). CNS toxicity (perioral numbness → seizures). Also a workhorse local anesthetic.
