Mechanism of Action (MOA)

Inhibits arabinosyl transferase → impairs mycobacterial cell-wall (arabinogalactan) synthesis.

Clinical Notes

The 'E' of RIPE TB therapy. Dose/duration-dependent optic neuritis → ↓ visual acuity and color blindness; reversible if stopped promptly, but irreversible blindness reported — check baseline, monitor vision.
