- Mechanism of Action (MOA)
- Prodrug (activated by KatG) that inhibits mycolic acid synthesis in the mycobacterial cell wall.
- Black Box Warning
- Severe and sometimes fatal hepatitis.
- Clinical Notes
- Active TB (combination) and latent TB. Give pyridoxine (B6) to prevent peripheral neuropathy. Hepatotoxicity; drug-induced lupus.
