Selectively inhibits serotonin reuptake → ↑ synaptic serotonin.
Black Box Warning
Increased suicidality in patients <25.
Clinical Notes
Long half-life (self-tapering — good for nonadherence); activating. CYP2D6 inhibitor (↑ many drug levels). Approved in children/adolescents.
