Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Inhibits serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake; also blocks muscarinic, H1, and α1 receptors.
Black Box Warning
Increased suicidality in patients <25.
Clinical Notes
Now mainly neuropathic pain, migraine prophylaxis, insomnia. Lethal in overdose (wide QRS, arrhythmia → sodium bicarbonate). Anticholinergic effects.
