- Selectively inhibits presynaptic serotonin reuptake → ↑ synaptic serotonin.
- Black Box Warning
- Increased suicidality in children, adolescents, and young adults (<25).
- Clinical Notes
- Labelled for MDD, OCD, panic, PTSD, social anxiety, PMDD. Nausea/diarrhea, sexual dysfunction; serotonin syndrome. Reduce dose gradually — do not stop abruptly.
