- Inhibits Na⁺-K⁺-2Cl⁻ cotransporter in the thick ascending limb → potent natriuresis/diuresis.
- Black Box Warning
- Profound diuresis can cause fluid/electrolyte depletion — titrate to effect.
- Clinical Notes
- Watch for hypokalemia, ototoxicity (rapid IV), hyperuricemia.
