Mechanism of Action (MOA)
Activates GLP-1 receptors → glucose-dependent insulin secretion, ↓ glucagon, delayed gastric emptying, ↑ satiety.
Black Box Warning
Thyroid C-cell tumors in rodents — contraindicated with personal/family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2.
Clinical Notes
T2DM and chronic weight management; cardiovascular benefit. Nausea, weight loss, and pancreatitis risk.
