Mechanism of Action (MOA): Directly and reversibly inhibits factor Xa.
Black Box Warning: Premature discontinuation increases thrombotic risk; spinal/epidural hematoma with neuraxial procedures.
Clinical Notes: AFib stroke prevention and VTE; no routine monitoring, fewer bleeds than warfarin. Reverse with andexanet alfa. Avoid with mechanical heart valves.
