- Mechanism of Action (MOA)
- Binds the 50S ribosomal subunit → blocks formation of the initiation complex (bacteriostatic).
- Clinical Notes
- MRSA and VRE. Reversible MAO inhibition → serotonin syndrome with SSRIs; thrombocytopenia and peripheral/optic neuropathy with prolonged use.
